still on pace

Haven't posted in a couple days.  Training on a treadmill is boring but keeps me out of the heat.  I'm glad that my training plan is flexible because it seems that now that I HAVE to run there are a million things to do.  Right now I'm enjoying my day off and the fact that it is the end of week 2.  Not looking forward to heading out in 100 degree temps this weekend though.  I've never wished for summer to be over, but I would love a "cold front".

an off day

It was supposed to be and "OFF" day but I did some crosstraining.  Think I'll take my off days when I can get them.  I'll have plenty of time to crosstrain when I'm done.

1st day of training

So I have a 16 week training plan..and today is day #1.  Run 3 miles.  Did it on a treadmill at the gym after I drank way too much coffee, but still got it done.  Note to self, drink coffee..wait longer before running.

Pre training moment

So I decided to run a marathon as my New Years Resolution this year.  Then after having told people that, I actually had to follow through and find one.  I'll be enjoying several hours running through beautiful antiquated Savannah Georgia in November so NOW is when I start training. 
I've never run a marathon before and for some crazy reason have no fear about it because I'm a "runner".  Like that means anything.  We do know how many miles a marathon is right?  26.2 glorious miles of pounding, sweaty agonizing for the finish line running.  Can't wait.  I'll be blogging about my experience daily so try to keep up will ya?
